Alan Shearer now delivers his honest opinion on Jurgen Klopp’s behaviour after Liverpool vs Newcastl

Alan Shearer has lauded Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as ‘different class’ but feels his touchline behaviour can be quite annoying at times. The Newcastle United legend has been speaking about the German boss following Liverpool’s 4-2 win over his former side on Monday evening.

Jurgen Klopp picked up a deserved win at Anfield thanks to a Mohamed Salah brace, as well as goals from Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones.

Despite the controversial decision to award Liverpool their second penalty of the game, the win saw Klopp’s side move three points clear at the top of the Premier League.

It’s fair to say that not many expected Liverpool to be leading the way at this stage after such a sizeable rebuild over the summer.

And after an exceptional start to the new season, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have heaped praise Klopp.

Shearer delivers honest verdict on Klopp after Liverpool beat Newcastle

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Lineker singled out Klopp for praise and admitted he loves watching his sides play football.

“I want to give Jurgen Klopp some credit because I love the way his teams play football,” he said. “He has done it for so many years now, and even when he’s had blips where they lost form, which they had particularly last season.

“He is rebuilding a side in many ways. I love his football, it’s so entertaining.”

Shearer agreed with Lineker and while he believes Klopp’s touchline behaviour can be annoying, he admitted his admiration for the Liverpool boss’ passion.

The Newcastle legend said: “He is brilliant. He’s different class. His attitude on the side of the pitch can be annoying at times but in a way I admire and like that as well because of how passionate he is and how much he loves his football club and cares about it.

“And the football his team plays is amazing at times. He is a special, special manager.”

“I would love to have played up-front for one of his teams,” Lineker added.

Klopp has certainly never been shy of expressing his feelings on the touchline.

The German boss has received criticism over his touchline antics in the past. But it’s something that fans love to see.

Liverpool haven’t even hit top gear this season and they find themselves leading the way after 20 games played.

Of course, there’s a long way to go and many are expecting Manchester City to put a run together sooner or later.

But Klopp has experience in these situations and that could give Liverpool the edge over other contenders such as Arsenal and Aston Villa.
