Liverpool fans have been left delighted after Mohamed Salah posted an image of himself on the training pitch ahead of his return.
The 31-year-old has not featured for the Reds since the beginning of January having been at the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.
He scored and assisted in their opening match against Mozambique but was substituted through injury in the 2-2 draw with Ghana.
Salah watched the rest of the match from the stands and it was soon revealed he had suffered a ‘proper tear in his hamstring.’
Egypt were knocked out of the competition by DR Congo on penalties and the winger will therefore make a return to club action.
Despite his injury, he posted an image on social media of him at Liverpool’s training ground.
“Recovery work continues,” he said in an Instagram caption, and fans are clearly delighted to see him back.
Taking to X, one excited supporter said: “THE KING IS BACK.”
“Can’t wait to see back on the pitch,” added a second.
A third said: “Almost back to go on a goal scoring spree to win Kloppo the Prem as a parting gift.”
“Salah is a machine man great sight to see recovery going well,” added a fourth.
Klopp, though, has been keen to suggest it will be some time before he returns.
The exiting German boss said: “He’s not ready for this game, not ready for the next game [against Arsenal]… and then not. So he’s injured. I’m not sure if there was a misunderstanding in the beginning. He’s injured and a muscle injury takes time.
“It could have been much worse, but he’s not available at the moment. He’s just doing his rehab.”

Salah’s absence will be felt heavily by Liverpool, especially when he has scored 18 goals this season.
They will also face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at the end of February as they eye what could be a historic quadruple.
Fixtures against Manchester City and Everton will also be played in the coming weeks in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge.
