£50m Star Could Leave Chelsea for Manchester United as Manager Warns He ‘Won’t Get Any Minutes’

Jadon Sancho’s turbulent stint at Manchester United may soon come to an end, with the £50 million winger poised to depart Old Trafford before the transfer deadline on Friday at 11pm. Despite Erik ten Hag’s often criticized approach towards Sancho—demanding more from the underperforming winger—the Dutch manager never explicitly excluded him from his plans. Even after Sancho’s return from a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, Ten Hag spoke positively about the player’s abilities, although Sancho did not feature in United’s opening Premier League fixtures.

As the transfer window nears its close, Juventus remains a potential destination for Sancho. However, a more surprising twist involves Chelsea, who have explored the possibility of including Raheem Sterling in a swap deal for Sancho. Chelsea’s head coach, Enzo Maresca, has made it clear that Sterling does not fit into his plans, expressing that while Sterling is a “fantastic person” and a professional, he does not align with Maresca’s vision for the team.

Maresca has hinted that Sterling could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines if a transfer does not materialize before the deadline. “The ones who are not involved are players who won’t get any minutes,” Maresca stated, underscoring that players like Sterling and others excluded from the squad will remain on the periphery if they stay.

Manchester United could potentially capitalize on this situation, with Dan Ashworth, the club’s newly-appointed sporting director, reportedly a strong admirer of Sterling. Despite a challenging season, Sterling ended with a notable tally of 18 goals and assists, making him an attractive proposition for United. As the transfer deadline approaches, a move involving Sterling and Sancho could provide a dramatic conclusion to the summer transfer window.
