Jürgen Klopp “wants” a $65 million playmaker, and João Palhinha is claiming that Liverpool is moving.
Liverpool transfer news: Jürgen Klopp is reportedly considering a $65 million playmaker, and a claim involving João Palhinha has surfaced ahead of the January transfer window.
Even though the Reds will need to perform far better in the upcoming weeks than they did against Crystal Palace, Liverpool is still very much in the running for the Premier League title. And that only strengthens the argument in favor of signing a player in January.
Joel Matip may miss the rest of the season due to an ACL injury, but Jürgen Klopp has downplayed the likelihood of Liverpool signing a center-back before the January transfer window (and his Reds contract). Prior to the second half of the season, strengthening defensive midfield also seemed like a good idea, but that too has cooled.
However, Liverpool would be giving itself a much-needed boost at a time when it might be leading the table going into the new year if it can bring someone in to help the team improve. Although the right player must be found, Klopp ought to be alert.
