Man City are ‘set to offer Rodri a new deal that would DOUBLE his current wages’

Manchester City are set to offer star midfielder Rodri a new contract that could double his current wages, bringing him in line with the club’s top earners like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

The Premier League champions consider Rodri one of their most influential players and are eager to secure his future at the Etihad. Despite having three years left on his current deal, City are making it a priority to extend his stay, especially as the 28-year-old enters his prime years.

Rodri’s potential new contract would reportedly see his weekly salary rise to £375,000. Manager Pep Guardiola, who views Rodri as a central figure in his midfield, is keen to build the team around the Spanish international.

Although Rodri has been linked with interest from Real Madrid, he seems committed to City, despite a recent thigh injury sustained during Spain’s European Championship final victory over England. This injury will keep him out of City’s opening game of the season, but Guardiola is confident in his recovery.

Rodri, who joined City in 2019, has become increasingly vital to the team’s success and continues to grow in importance within the squad.
