Juventus resume discussions with Jadon Sancho

Juventus have rekindled their interest in Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as the transfer window nears its close. The Turin giants are aiming to bolster their attacking options and are eyeing Sancho as a potential addition to their squad. According to Calciomercato, Juventus have re-established contact with Sancho’s representatives, though his €20 million annual salary poses a significant obstacle.

Sancho’s relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag soured at the beginning of last season, leading to his exclusion from the first team and a subsequent loan move back to Borussia Dortmund. During his stint in Germany, the English winger regained form with strong performances. However, upon his return to Old Trafford, Sancho has struggled to reintegrate, being left out of United’s opening league fixture and absent from the squad in their recent loss to Brighton.

With two years remaining on his contract, including an option for an additional year, Sancho is not currently part of Ten Hag’s plans. United are keen to recoup a portion of the €85 million they invested in him in 2021, but finding a buyer willing to meet their demands has been challenging.

Juventus are particularly interested in Sancho as they prepare for potential changes in their squad, including the possible departure of Federico Chiesa. Manager Thiago Motta is seeking a high-caliber winger, and Sancho, with his previous success at Dortmund, fits the bill. Juventus are considering a loan deal, potentially with financial assistance from Manchester United to offset Sancho’s substantial wages. This move could benefit all parties involved, allowing Sancho to find more playtime while helping United offload an out-of-favor player.
