Arkansas’ 24-14 win over Auburn on Saturday wasn’t always nice to look at, but the Razorbacks came out on top. Here’s the good, the bad, and the ugly from the Razorbacks’ first SEC victory of 2024.

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly: Arkansas vs Auburn

The Good: Arkansas’ defense looked elite

Auburn accrued 431 yards of offense on Saturday, but a stellar effort by the Razorback defense meant most of those had little substance behind them. Arkansas intercepted Hank Brown and Payton Thorne a combined four times, and forced a fumble on a long Auburn run. There were a couple of breakdowns — most notably a coverage bust that led to Auburn’s first score and a long touchdown allowed on fourth down — but for the most part, Travis Williams’ group stifled an Auburn offense that seemed to find its footing against New Mexico the week prior.

Arkansas will need its defense to step up throughout the season, and Saturday’s game is a good indication that the unit will be able to do exactly that.
