Breaking news: Alisson Becker back in action

Alisson Becker has resumed training, according to Jürgen Klopp, ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

Since suffering an injury during the 1-1 draw away at Manchester City earlier this month, the goalkeeper has been sidelined.

In contrast, Alexis Mac Allister is a serious doubt for Saturday lunchtime’s match at Selhurst Park due to a knock he received during the midweek victory over Sheffield United.

.During the pre-game press conference, Klopp stated: “Alisson appears to be in good shape, but I’m not sure if he’ll be ready for tomorrow.” I need to confirm that with the medical staff, the coaches, and Ali, of course.

Macca doesn’t appear well, so we’ll have to wait and see. After the game, they were reasonably optimistic that it wasn’t serious. It’s not that bad, but if you miss five days during the year, you basically miss 12 games.

“”We’ll have to wait and see how he arrives today. It’s pretty much stop and go because I don’t think he’ll be ready for tomorrow, and I’m not sure about Thursday or Sunday after that. We must observe.”

Regarding Alisson’s return to training, the Reds manager went on: “Yes, yesterday.” He trained normally yesterday.”

Inquiries regarding Joel Matip’s future were also directed towards Klopp. Matip, a defender in the last year of his contract at Anfield, sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury last weekend against Fulham.

“Yes, I believe the club will demonstrate their class, as you should do,” he stated. Joel’s club has probably already informed him, as long as he remains injured, that everything will be alright.

“And now that it has happened, Joel and I need to decide how to proceed. That is a customary action. However, it goes without saying that he deserves our full support and will receive it.
