While he might have quickly become a fan favourite at Anfield, Dominik Szoboszlai’s ‘flumps for laces’ trainers have led some Liverpool fans to joke they now want him sold.

The Hungarian star joined Liverpool in the summer from RB Leipzig as part of the Reds midfield revamp, which also saw Argentine World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister head up north to join Jurgen Klopp’s side from Brighton too.

Szoboszlai has started every single Premier League game this term for Liverpool, who currently sit top of the table after their dramatic 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last week. But, while the 23-year-old has settled in superbly, some fans on social media couldn’t quite believe his footwear of choice as he boarded Liverpool’s flight to Belgium ahead of their Europa League clash against Union Saint-Gilloise.

Walking towards the plane adorned in Liverpool training gear, Szoboszlai looked cool, calm and collected, posing for the camera as he went to board the flight. However, attention was quickly drawn to his all white Nike Air Force 1’s.

While the trainers looked to be in pristine condition, fans couldn’t quite get their head around the rather ridiculous ‘flump’ marshmallow-like laces the Hungarian had chosen, with one supporter commenting he wanted Szoboszlai ‘sold immediately’.

What do you make of Dominik Szoboszlai’s ‘flump trainer’ shoes? Let us know in the comments section below.
