Doku Stones
are “ready,” but Guardiola is unsure about Doku.
John Stones may start against Aston Villa, according to Pep Guardiola, but he won’t find out Jeremy Doku’s availability until after Tuesday’s afternoon practice.
For the match at Villa Park, City will undoubtedly be without Jack Grealish and Rodrigo, so Stones might make a comeback after a few weeks away.
When questioned about Stones possibly starting the game, Guardiola responded, “He was ready for the last game, and he’s ready now.”
Additionally, he states that Stones might be able to play in Rodrigo’s usual role and that he is considering a number of options for the match against Villa, who currently own a perfect home record in the Premier League this year.
Yes, John can play there,” remarked Pep.
“Ake and Akanji as well.
“We acknowledge Rodri’s significance, but like Jack, he is suspended.
“We’ll identify the most effective way to take on VIlla.”
On Wednesday night, Guardiola was also questioned about Kalvin Phillips’ training regimen and his ability to cover for the injured midfield pivot.
“Yes, there is a possibility,” he replied.
“I have to watch training this afternoon to see how the players are feeling and are in general. Tomorrow, a decision will be made.
“Kalvin has received outstanding instruction. As I’ve said many times, I have nothing negative to say about him.
“Again, we have training this afternoon regarding Doku. I’ll consult with the physicians and follow up.
