Man City ‘Highly Receptive’ to Late Deal for £343m Star

Ilkay Gundogan may be on the verge of a surprising return to Manchester City, according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who spoke exclusively to GIVEMESPORT. The German midfielder was notably absent from Barcelona’s squad for their La Liga opener.

Gundogan, who spent seven successful years at City from 2016, won multiple titles, including five Premier League championships and a Champions League victory in his final appearance for the club. Despite leaving for Barcelona, he might be headed back to City, with Pep Guardiola reportedly open to his return due to Gundogan’s familiarity with the team’s philosophy and his undiminished quality.

Rumors have surfaced that Gundogan, who joined Barcelona last summer and played a key role in their second-place La Liga finish, is now seeking to leave the club. According to Spanish outlet Sport, he submitted a transfer request after being excluded from Barcelona’s opening-day win over Valencia. The Catalan club is said to be open to his departure, possibly to raise funds for a move for RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo.
