Man Utd Pushing Hard to Sign ‘World-Class’ Midfielder as Casemiro’s Replacement

Manchester United are reportedly in discussions with Adrien Rabiot’s representatives regarding a summer transfer to Old Trafford, according to TEAMtalk. Arsenal and Aston Villa are also competing for the French midfielder.

Rabiot played a key role for Juventus last season, making 35 appearances across all competitions as the team fell short of the Serie A title. Manchester United, long-time admirers of Rabiot, are making a strong push for the midfielder, who is currently playing for the French national team at Euro 2024 in Germany.

United are looking to strengthen their midfield, having also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte recently. With Casemiro potentially departing, Rabiot has been identified as a possible replacement. The former PSG player is out of contract this summer and is expected to reject a new three-year deal from Juventus.

TEAMtalk reports that United are in a four-way race to sign Rabiot. New Juventus manager Thiago Motta is keen to retain him, while Arsenal and Aston Villa are interested in boosting their squads for next season’s Champions League campaign. At 29, Rabiot is likely seeking to maximize his earnings with what could be his last significant contract. This opens a window for United, who have greater financial resources compared to their rivals, and Rabiot is reportedly interested in moving to Old Trafford.

United have reportedly been in regular contact with Rabiot over recent months, viewing him as an ideal replacement for Casemiro. Signing Rabiot would provide Erik ten Hag with an experienced midfielder to complement young talent Kobbie Mainoo and star player Bruno Fernandes.

Despite mixed perceptions of Rabiot in England, he boasts 45 caps for France, numerous domestic honors, and over 200 appearances for both PSG and Juventus.
