In just 13 Premier League games this season, the England international has managed just two goals and two assists.

United legend Paul Scholes slammed Rashford after his showing at Newcastle and Erik ten Hag is planning a private chat with his player amid his terrible form.

Wright has now shared his own verdict on the 26-year-old’s struggles and told Premier League Productions: ‘Yes, I think so (there is evidence to support criticism aimed at Rashford).

‘I watched this game (against Newcastle). Yes, he still tried to take on, but if you just look at his manner and his body language. People will say ‘Oh, here we go, the body language again’. It’s how you react.

‘I “I overheard Jamie Carragher discussing the significance of being a local player to the supporters and something really, really interesting.” It struck me as a really good point.

This season, Rashford has had trouble staying on form.

“We saw Saka and Emile Smith Rowe a few years back; those two young players were the lifeblood of that team.” Whether you like it or not, that duty falls on you.

Sadly, I was watching that game as well as a few others. There doesn’t seem to be any fight left in them, something Anthony Martial has also shown me.
