Jonathan Tah decides to move in January following approaches from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The defender for Bayer Leverkusen is being pursued by numerous teams.

Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen appears set to reject Manchester United and Chelsea’s attempts to sign him, as the player and the team have reportedly ruled out a January transfer.

.The 27-year-old had a £15 million release clause in his contract, but no clubs ultimately chose to activate it. He was on the verge of leaving Leverkusen in the summer.

Given that the center back has made 12 starts in the Bundesliga this season and has helped his team climb to the top of the table with an undefeated record, his suitors may be regretting that decision now.

Due to Tah’s performances, several teams have expressed interest in signing the Germany international, including West Ham, United, and Newcastle. Tah’s contract is set to expire in 18 months.

Chelsea is reportedly interested in the seasoned defender as well and has “asked about the player,” according to Sky Sport Germany.

Midway through the season, Leverkusen has ruled out selling Tah, and the player will not pursue a transfer.

Tah wants to stay and try to win trophies at the team where he has spent the last eight years, Leverkusen, since they are playing so well under Xabi Alonso and are in contention for the Bundesliga title as well as other competitions.

Additionally, he is not fond of the idea of changing teams in the middle of the season, especially since he wants to participate in the home Euros in Germany the following summer.

Nevertheless, he is eager to put himself to the test in the Premier League and will consider his options when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Leverkusen is willing to let Tah go for the right price, despite their ability to hold onto players as demonstrated by their refusal to accept a significant summer bid from Spurs for Edmond Tapsoba.

Their final opportunity to acquire the center back will be represented by this, and they hope to get about £21.5 million.

Due to concerns about Raphael Varane’s long-term future at United—the veteran Frenchman was linked to a move away in January after drastically falling down the Old Trafford hierarchy—the team is rumored to be shopping for a new center-back.

Chelsea, meanwhile, is aware that Thiago Silva might be playing in his final season with the team. Despite having already spent a lot of money on a number of promising center backs, Chelsea may try to sign a new player in January, especially if Trevoh Chalobah is let go.
