Three serious issues were brought out, and Manchester United was urged to “sack” Erik ten Hag.

After Saturday’s seventh Premier League loss to Bournemouth, Erik ten Hag is coming under increasing pressure.

There is strain on Erik ten Hag

Danny Murphy maintains that if Manchester United hopes to contend for the Premier League title once more, Erik ten Hag has to go.

Ten Hag is coming under more and more pressure at United following his team’s humiliating loss to Bournemouth on Saturday. Marcos Senesi, Philip Billing, and Dominic Solanke scored for Andoni Iraola’s team, who were unfortunate not to win by a score of more than 3-0.

After Ten Hag won the November Manager of the Month award for three straight Premier League victories, United appeared to be improving. He then defeated Chelsea 2-1 in midweek. However, the loss to the Cherries has quickly soured the atmosphere, and Murphy has pushed club executives to take a stand.

Murphy stated in his Sunday Mail column that “Ten Hag is not the manager to take United to the top table of English football if they want to eat there again.”

With the players under Ten Hag, United simply cannot compete with City, Liverpool, and Arsenal. A team that is improving after a strong debut season is not one that I see. One is regressing, and I don’t see how Ten Hag taking over will make that stop.

Of course, Ten Hag isn’t entirely to blame. There are plenty of issues at United that are above and beyond him. It’s necessary for some of the players to glance in the mirror.

“Nevertheless, Ten Hag has had a significant impact on United’s hiring process, even though none of the newcomers have yet to prove to be successful. He needs to improve his tactics because some of the other players appear to be unmotivated as well.

After losing 1-0 at Newcastle last weekend, United reached double digits for losses for the first time since they were demoted to the second division in 1973–1974. Saturday’s loss was their eleventh in all competitions. Since Ten Hag assumed leadership in May 2022, they have expended over £400 million.

“”It’s time for a change but only if they have a plan in place,” Murphy stated. “Until United knows what they want to do next, there is no point in sacking Ten Hag right now. However, it’s obvious that this manager isn’t the best fit for United.

“You would say, ‘Oh my God,’ if Bournemouth defeated City 3-0. If they went to Arsenal and won by three, you would act in the same way. You just shrug when they go to United and pull it off. That sums everything up.”I
