West Ham Agrees £15M Transfer as Man Utd Prepares for Key Replacements

West Ham have agreed to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United for a fee of around £15 million. Wan-Bissaka, in the final year of his contract with United, is set to travel to London on Sunday for his medical examination.

The 25-year-old right-back has been with Manchester United since 2019, making 190 appearances and winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Previously, West Ham’s manager, Julen Lopetegui, had attempted to sign him during his time at Wolves last summer.

Manchester United, in turn, are moving forward with plans to sign Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui. Although West Ham had agreed on a £16.5 million deal for Mazraoui last month, it fell through, leaving United poised to complete their own deal for the Moroccan defender.

In a separate move, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign Matthijs de Ligt for €50 million (£42.9 million), including add-ons. De Ligt, a 24-year-old defender, has played 73 times and scored five goals for Bayern since joining from Juventus. He previously worked with Manchester United’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, at Ajax, where they won the Eredivisie in 2019.

De Ligt’s transfer is pending a medical, and he must be registered by Thursday to be eligible for Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday.

The 2024 summer transfer window closes on August 30 at 11 p.m. UK time for the Premier League.
